Peregrine Team is hiring for Installation Technicians in Norfolk, VA. This position is a full-time, contract to hire role with full benefits and competitive pay.

About the Role

Norfolk, VA, United States (Up to 90% Travel)

We are seeking an Installation Technician to support data center infrastructure installations. This role involves installing containment systems, cage structures, raised flooring, cable conveyance, and environmental monitoring equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-focused, and able to work with large components while maintaining alignment and structural integrity in active data center environments without disrupting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install data center containment and cage systems, including roof panels, frames, end-of-row doors, sealing components, and modular assemblies
  • Ensure proper alignment, fastening, gap sealing, and load-bearing compliance to maintain airflow efficiency and structural integrity
  • Safely handle and install glass/acrylic doors, oversized panels, metal frames, and reinforced security components using approved lifting practices
  • Install and anchor raised floor systems (tiles, pedestals, stringers, and underfloor bracing), cutting and leveling as needed to support equipment loads
  • Install ladder racks, cable trays, basket systems, and overhead conveyance infrastructure for organized cable management
  • Install and validate wireless thermal monitoring sensors, assisting with EkkoSense pairing, testing, and documentation

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; ability to read, speak, and write basic English
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency using hand and power tools; ability to read installation drawings and measurements for accurate alignment and leveling
  • Experience with data center installations, mechanical assembly, containment systems, raised floors, cages, ladder racks, or cable trays preferred
  • Comfortable working on ladders, elevated systems, in confined spaces, and around live equipment while following data center safety and access protocols
  • Physically capable of lifting 50–75 lbs safely, standing 10–12 hours per day, and performing repetitive installation tasks
  • OSHA 10 certified with knowledge of safe lifting techniques, ladder safety, overhead work, and strict PPE compliance
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills and situational awareness
  • Willingness to travel up to 90% of the time and able to pass background check and drug screening

  • Forklift experience
  • Knowledge of data centers
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bilingual is a plus
